William Berg

A civil trial lawyer concentrating in personal injury, William Berg has practiced law in Northern California since 1980. He has represented clients in courts ranging from the municipal level to the California Supreme Court. Among his notable cases is Mexicali Rose v. Superior Court, where the Supreme Court revised a 1936 rule to ensure that consumers can seek legal recourse for injuries caused by natural substances in food.

Berg earned his B.A. with honors in criminology from UC Berkeley in 1974 and his J.D. with honors from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 1979. He clerked for the Alameda County District Attorney from 1977 to 1979, then practiced insurance defense at Long and Levit in San Francisco before founding Berg Injury Lawyers in 1981. He is a member of the McAuliffe Honor Society and is active in legal and civic organizations throughout Northern California.
