
About Robert Ounjian
Robert J. Ounjian, Esq. is a partner and experienced personal injury lawyer at Carpenter & Zuckerman. His focus includes general liability and medical malpractice litigation with an emphasis on birth injuries. Joining the firm as an associate in 2009, Robert quickly distinguished himself as an invaluable and compassionate litigator, earning a promotion to Partner in 2013. Since joining CZ Law, Robert has played an integral role in countless jury trials and arbitrations.
He second-chaired a medical malpractice birth injury case, resulting in a landmark $74.525 million verdict. In another case involving a four-year-old female seriously injured in a motor vehicle collision, Robert secured a $45 million settlement for the victim’s family. During his tenure at the firm, Robert has resolved more than 550 cases involving medical malpractice, motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, elder abuse, and product liability.
Thus far, Robert has recovered over $450 million in justice for his injured clients. Education Robert attended Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles, earning his Juris Doctor in 2000. Prior to attending law school, Robert completed his undergraduate degree at the University of California, Irvine.
Proven verdicts and settlements
A San Luis Obispo jury awarded $74.5 million to the family of a girl who was born with cerebral palsy in April 2009 after her obstetrician failed to respond to deteriorating fetal heart-rate tracings and did not order emergency delivery at Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center.
A San Diego jury awarded $9,117,715 to Regina Hampton after she slipped on water leaking from an out-of-service ADA bathroom at the AMC theater in Poway and developed Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, a chronic pain condition requiring a spinal cord stimulator and Ketamine infusions.
