Michael Clement

Michael Clement is a Knoxville native with deep roots in East Tennessee. After graduating from Holston High School, he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Tennessee and later obtained his Juris Doctor from Memphis State University’s Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law. Following his admission to the Tennessee Bar in 1986, Mr. Clement returned to East Tennessee to establish his law practice, which operated for 28 years under the names Harber and Clement for five years and later J. Michael Clement, PLLC for 23 years. He then practiced with Ridenour & Ridenour for approximately ten years before joining Garza Law Firm.

His extensive legal experience includes serving as City Attorney for Clinton, Tennessee, acting as a Special Juvenile Court and General Sessions Judge in Anderson County, and owning a title company for thirteen years. Mr. Clement has held leadership roles such as President of the Anderson County Bar Association, Chairman of the Board of the Chamber of Commerce for Anderson County, President of the Civitan Club for Clinton, TN, and President of the Adult Literacy Program for Anderson County. He is admitted to practice in all Tennessee state courts, as well as the U.S. District Court and U.S. Supreme Court. Outside of his professional life, Mr. Clement enjoys spending time with his wife, golfing, hunting, fishing, sport shooting, and ammunition reloading.
