About Bill Markovits

Founding partner Bill Markovits focuses his practice on complex civil litigation, including securities, antitrust, RICO, False Claims Act, and consumer class actions. He began his career as a trial lawyer at the U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division in Washington, D.C., and continued that antitrust focus in Cincinnati, including serving as an adjunct professor of antitrust at the University of Cincinnati Law School. His notable cases include a Choice Care securities, antitrust, and RICO class action where a jury awarded over $100 million to a class of physicians; a fraud and RICO case on behalf of Procter & Gamble that settled for $165 million.

An 11-year antitrust and RICO class action against Humana that reached the U.S. Supreme Court and settled for millions; and a national Microsoft class action in which he was chosen to depose Bill Gates. More recently, he served as lead counsel in the Fannie Mae Securities Litigation ($153 million settlement), a class action against Duke Energy ($80.75 million settlement), a class action against Navistar (benefits valued at $742 million), and Collins v. Eastman Kodak, where he obtained a preliminary injunction on an antitrust tying claim. He was a 2015 finalist in the American Antitrust Institute's Antitrust Enforcement Awards.
