About Ryan McAllister
Ryan McAllister is Senior Litigation Counsel at Parker Waichman LLP, focusing on personal injury and mass tort litigation. With a career spanning both plaintiff and defense work, he has extensive trial experience in nursing home negligence, catastrophic injury, and medical malpractice cases. He holds a dual degree in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science from Syracuse University and a J.D. from Villanova University School of Law. He began his career as a prosecutor, trying cases from DUIs to violent felonies, before transitioning to civil litigation. He has been recognized by the National Trial Lawyers as one of the Top 100 Civil Plaintiff Trial Lawyers in New York, and was recognized in the Top 50 Verdicts in New York in 2025.
Proven verdicts and settlements
A Nassau County jury found on June 26, 2025 that South Shore Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Freeport violated the Public Health Law and was negligent in caring for resident Henry Serrapica, who developed pressure ulcers on his heels, ankle and sacral area during 2019 and died that December. The jury awarded $5 million, including $1 million in punitive damages. In January 2026 the trial court denied the defense motions to set the verdict aside, reduce it or order a new trial, and the case then went to the Appellate Division.
