About Steven Maher
Steven R. Maher received his law degree from the University of Southern California in 1987. For more than 30 years he has handled thousands of personal injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, dangerous drugs and medical devices, patent infringement, automobile negligence, antitrust, and class action cases. He was named the 2017 Plaintiff Personal Injury Lawyer of the Year for the Orlando area by Best Lawyers in America and has been listed in Florida Super Lawyers every year since 2007. He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and a Fellow of the International Society of Barristers, both invitation-only organizations requiring extensive trial experience.

Proven verdicts and settlements
A Florida jury awarded $10 million to the family of a 10-year-old boy with Down syndrome who died after a pharmacy dispensed more than ten times the prescribed dose of methadone.
A Philadelphia Common Pleas jury found Jeanes Hospital and Hillcrest Convalescent Home equally responsible for the pressure sores and infections that led to Joe Blango's death in 2008. It awarded $1 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages. The trial court molded the compensatory award to $1,029,722.30 and remitted the punitive awards to $500,000 and $1 million, leaving about $2.53 million.
