Jeff Murphy

Jeff Murphy is Of Counsel at The Yerrid Law Firm, a designation he has held since 2018 after collaborating with the firm on cases over the prior decade. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida, has lived in Tampa since 1972, and attended the University of Pennsylvania before earning his J.D. with honors from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, graduating in the top 10% of his class. He has 30 years of experience as a trial lawyer focusing on personal injury and wrongful death. Murphy has represented hundreds of clients in motor vehicle and trucking accidents and has handled large, complex matters, including cases against two major universities for the wrongful deaths of college football players: one resulted in a $10 million jury verdict and the other in the university's admission of liability.

He represented victims of the 2017 Las Vegas Mandalay Bay mass shooting in a global settlement of $800 million. He is also part of the team representing over 150 retired NFL players in the NFL Concussion Settlement. Murphy holds an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell (awarded to fewer than 10% of attorneys), is a member of the Florida Justice Association and the Hillsborough County Bar Association.
