Brett Poppen

Brett Poppen was born and raised in De Smet, South Dakota. He graduated from South Dakota State University in 2005 and from the University of South Dakota School of Law in 2009. After graduation, he served as a law clerk in the Sixth Judicial Circuit of South Dakota. He joined Beardsley Jensen & Lee in 2010 and became a partner in 2017. His practice focuses on civil litigation, construction and professional liability law, and insurance defense. He has tried lawsuits throughout South Dakota, including as lead defense counsel in wrongful death jury trials. Brett enjoys spending time with his family, serving in his church, and reading.
