About David White
David W. White is a partner at Breakstone, White & Gluck. He decided to attend law school while doing environmental work in Vermont, where he saw lawyers as key players in making a meaningful difference. His practice has included the representation of injured workers in construction accident cases, medical malpractice cases involving failures to diagnose cancer, anesthesia injuries, orthopedic injuries, and other serious personal injuries from medical negligence. A Middlesex Superior Court jury awarded $56 million on July 22, 2026 to Malcolm Carnwath, a 78-year-old retired realtor from Newburyport, Massachusetts. An Amazon delivery driver fell asleep and crossed the center line in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, on Nov. 16, 2024, causing a head-on crash. Mr. Carnwath suffered a cardiac arrest, multiple strokes with permanent brain injury, and a below-knee amputation of his left leg. Amazon accepted liability days before the two-day damages trial.
Marc Breakstone secured a $7.5 million wrongful death settlement for the family of William 'Billy' Nichols, a 46-year-old electrician killed in a July 2010 propane explosion at a Norfolk condominium construction site, after proving that a propane distributor's deliberate under-filling of a new tank caused the safety odorant to dissipate, leaving a deadly gas leak completely undetectable.
A Middlesex Superior Court jury found American Medical Response of Massachusetts negligent in May 2015 after EMTs let a stretcher tip over at a Plymouth dialysis pickup in January 2009. Barbara Grimes, 67, struck her head, suffered a brain hemorrhage and died days later. The jury awarded $1,425,000 for her conscious pain and suffering and $75,000 in wrongful death damages to her three next of kin.
