Before becoming a trial lawyer, Drew worked as a law clerk at Carpenter & Zuckerman, where he gained hands-on litigation experience as a summer associate. While attending UC Irvine School of law, Drew contributed to the UCI Law IPAT Clinic - Press Freedom Project as a clinical student, supporting First Amendment and constitutional claims by preparing witness interviews, conducting legal research, and coordinating discovery. He also served as a student leader at the pro bono Transgender Legal Assistance Clinic, helping hundreds of clients the name-change process and ensuring their petitions are correctly filed.

A Los Angeles jury awarded $45 million to the four children of Claudia Fernandez after a drunk driver, whose vehicle owner negligently handed over her keys, struck and killed her at a Boyle Heights taco truck in 2012.
