Hirlye Lutz

Hirlye 'Ryan' Lutz III is a Principal at Cory Watson Attorneys in Birmingham, Alabama. His practice focuses on Class Action and Complex Litigation, helping those injured by large corporations.

Lutz earned his Juris Doctor from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University and his undergraduate degree from Auburn University. He is admitted to the Alabama State Bar, multiple U.S. Courts of Appeals (Eleventh, Fifth, and Ninth Circuits), and U.S. District Courts across Alabama, California, Georgia, Indiana, Mississippi, Ohio, Texas, and Wisconsin, plus state courts in several other states.

A Birmingham native, Lutz joined Cory Watson in 2006 and has served in leading roles in Multi-District Litigation involving medical devices and defective products. He recently served as Co-Lead Counsel in a product liability case against Nissan that secured a $25 million verdict for plaintiffs. His honors include Super Lawyers (2016, 2022-2025), Best Lawyers in America (2020-2026), and Birmingham Business Journal Top 40 Under 40 (2019). He serves as Board Member and President of the TumTum Tree Foundation.
