About Dan Caplis
Dan Caplis has served as lead counsel in Denver catastrophic injury cases for more than 40 years. He is the only lawyer in Colorado history to win five straight multi-million dollar jury verdicts in crash cases and holds the largest truck crash jury verdict in Colorado history. Dan is a nationally known legal analyst and the host of a daily syndicated talk show on the iHeart Radio network, with hundreds of appearances on Fox News, CNN, NBC, CBS, ABC, and BBC.
He is a Colorado Super Lawyer, was named one of the 25 most powerful people in Denver by 5280 Magazine, and has received the Humanitarian of the Year award. Dan serves on the Board of Directors of Catholic Charities. He graduated from the University of Colorado with honors and served as Student Body President before earning his J.D. from the University of Colorado School of Law.
Proven verdicts and settlements
A Garfield County jury returned a $205 million verdict against Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park and ride manufacturer Soaring Eagle after finding that operators launched the Haunted Mine Drop with a six-year-old girl sitting on top of an unsecured seatbelt, overriding a warning alarm that should have stopped the ride.
A Denver jury awarded $26.6 million to two adult siblings whose parents were both killed when a drowsy CWRV Transport driver rear-ended their stopped vehicle at 75 mph on a Colorado highway.
After Cincinnati Casualty told an Aurora man he owed nothing following three spinal surgeries from a multi-car crash, a Denver jury returned a verdict of more than $3 million for breach of contract and insurance bad faith.
