About Earl Ross Downs III

Earl Ross Downs, III, is a Bastrop native who graduated from the University of Central Arkansas with his Bachelor’s of Science in Insurance and Risk Management in 2014. Earl Ross also earned his Master’s in Business Administration in 2015. He then received his Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, William H. Bowen School of Law in 2018. As a licensed Louisiana attorney, Earl Ross has been exposed to personal injury and accident law his whole life.

After marrying his wife Hayden, they moved back to his hometown to serve their community. Earl Ross played football for Bastrop High School and finished his football career on a full scholarship to play at the University of Central Arkansas. He is passionate about his community in northeast Louisiana and has enjoyed working with high schools around the area for the Downs Law Firm-K-104 Radio’s, Game of the Week. Earl Ross is a member of the Louisiana Bar Association and the Louisiana Access to Justice.

On October 26, 2016 Gerald Farrar, with a blood alcohol content of 0.346 percent, struck a guardrail on U.S. Highway 425 in Morehouse Parish hard enough to tear the right front wheel off his truck, then drove about 800 feet on three wheels and left the wheel in the road. Monica Duran hit it and crashed into a guardrail, suffering a concussion, a back injury and neurological damage. A jury awarded her $843,155 in compensatory damages and $3,000,000 in exemplary damages for the drunk driving. On April 10, 2024 the Louisiana Second Circuit affirmed every dollar.
