Leila Jarmusz

Leila Hicks Jarmusz is an attorney at the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin. She joined the firm in 2017. Her practice areas include personal injury, Social Security Disability (including Veterans' Disability), car accidents, and medical malpractice.

Jarmusz earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Philosophy with a minor in Social and Economic Justice from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2008 and her Juris Doctor from the UNC School of Law in 2011, where she was an editor/staff member of the UNC Banking Institute Journal (2009-2011).

She is admitted to the North Carolina Bar, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina, and the 16th Judicial District. She serves as Chair of the North Carolina Bar Association Membership Committee (2021-2023) and is a member of the Durham County Bar Association and North Carolina Advocates for Justice.

Her honors include Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch (2021-2023), the National Black Lawyers Top 40 Under 40 (2017), North Carolina Pro Bono Honor Society induction (2020), and the Charles Blanchard Young Lawyer of the Year Award from NCBA (2021). She was also a Governor appointee to the NC Brain Injury Advisory Council.

She presented four National Business Institute CLEs on evidence collection and motorist insurance law in 2017.
