Proven verdicts and settlements
A Camden County jury awarded $11 million to a 66-year-old teaching assistant whose reported neck and shoulder pain after esophageal surgery went undocumented, allowing a microperforation of her esophagus to seed a bacterial infection in her cervical spine that required a disc excision and a fusion at C6 and C7. The award was $10 million in compensatory damages plus $1 million to her husband for loss of consortium.
