About Sam Legate
Sam J. Legate is a founding and managing partner of Scherr Legate and the managing partner overseeing the firm's top cases. He came to El Paso in the early 1990s after practicing law for five years in Oklahoma, having grown up in Presidio, Texas. Together they built Scherr Legate into the region's largest personal injury firm. Along with Jim Scherr, Sam donated $1 million to establish the Scherr Legate Trauma Center at University Medical Center, the only Level 1 trauma center within a 280-mile radius. He served as Founding Chairman of the Board for El Paso Children's Hospital and has been a Board Director of the Downtown Management District since 1997. Sam handles cases in labor and employment, personal injury, product liability, non-subscriber work injuries, and wrongful death.
