About Scott Goodwin

Scott A. Goodwin is the founder of Scott Goodwin Law P.C. and has practiced personal injury law in Michigan since his bar admission in 1986. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University and his Juris Doctor from the Detroit College of Law in 1986. Goodwin concentrates his practice on motor vehicle crashes, medical malpractice, premises liability, and wrongful death claims. He served as president of the Michigan Association for Justice in 2014 and received the organization's Champion of Justice Award in 2021. He has been selected to Super Lawyers for 21 consecutive years (2006 to 2026), holds an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell, and has appeared in Best Lawyers in America continuously from 2011 through 2024.

Michigan Lawyers Weekly recognized him as Lawyer of the Year in 2014 and inducted him into its Legal Hall of Fame in 2024. He is a lifetime member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum and a member of the National Trial Lawyers Top 100. Goodwin co-tried Gibson v. Continental Automotive in Oakland County in 2026, resulting in a jury award of $896,467,970. He has led Free Law Day for 37 years, distributing more than 15,000 free bicycle helmets and providing pro bono legal assistance to the community.
