John Distasio

John C. Distasio is a personal injury attorney at The Florida Law Group whose practice emphasizes semi-truck crash cases. He also handles car crashes, slip and falls, premises liability, catastrophic injuries, traumatic brain injuries, burn injuries, dog bites, and general negligence claims. His insurance defense background gives clients an advantage in dealing with insurance companies. Before joining The Florida Law Group, John worked at Morgan and Morgan litigating consumer rights claims.

Prior to that, he served as an Assistant State Attorney for the 13th Judicial Circuit, where he tried over one hundred jury and non-jury trials on a caseload of more than two hundred cases ranging from DUI to attempted murder. He earned his Master of Law (LL.M.) in Advocacy from Stetson University College of Law during that time. John received his B.A. in Communication Studies from Florida State University, graduating cum laude, and his J.D. from Florida International University, where he was a member of the Trial Team and received the Book Award in Florida Law and Procedure. He is licensed to practice in all three federal district courts in Florida.
