John-Mark Atkinson

A native of Charleston, John-Mark Atkinson is a partner with Atkinson & Frampton, PLLC. He practices primarily in the area of employment discrimination and police misconduct, where he represents individuals who have faced wrongful termination, sexual harassment, or retaliation in the workplace, as well as those who have had their civil rights violated by law enforcement officers. John-Mark enjoys all aspects of litigation and aggressively represents his clients in both state and federal courts throughout West Virginia. He has wide experience in motions practice and in both taking and defending depositions.

John-Mark's trial experience includes representing defendants in criminal defense matters. John-Mark also has experience drafting appellate briefs and has participated in oral arguments before the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. John-Mark graduated from Brigham Young University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a minor in Business Administration. John-Mark is a 2012 graduate of West Virginia University College of Law where he graduated Order of the Coif, a distinction reserved for students who graduate in the top ten percent of their class.

During law school, John-Mark served as a Senior Editor of Vol. 114 of the West Virginia Law Review and was a member of the West Virginia University College of Law Clinical Law Program, where he provided legal services to indigent West Virginians. John-Mark is dedicated to community service in both the professional and personal spheres. He has handled a number of foster parent adoptions pro bono and previously served as a mentor and volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters.
