Natalie Atkinson

Natalie's legal practice at Atkinson & Frampton centers on employment litigation and federal criminal defense. She has significant experience in all aspects of litigation, including at the appellate level. Before joining Atkinson & Frampton, Natalie was a partner at a Charleston firm specializing in product liability litigation. There, she defended manufacturers in individual and multidistrict litigations, with a focus on medical devices.

Her first years in private practice were spent taking depositions and drafting dozens of Daubert and dispositive motions in the pelvic mesh product liability litigation. Natalie's past work also includes expert witness development on behalf of a chemical manufacturer in the Combat Arms litigation, then the largest mass tort multidistrict litigation in United States history; successful defense of a West Virginia land-grant university in an Open Governmental Meetings suit; membership on a trial team that obtained a defense victory after an eight-day jury trial in Shears v. Ethicon, Inc., United States District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia; and drafting of amicus briefs on behalf of the Product Liability Advisory Counsel. Prior to entering private practice, Natalie served for three years as a law clerk to the Honorable Thomas E. Johnston of the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia. Natalie is a graduate of the West Virginia University College of Law, where she graduated Order of the Coif, and Brigham Young University.
