About Matthew J. Adair

After receiving his B.A. from Northwestern University in 2006, Mr. Adair graduated cum laude from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2009. Mr. Adair joined Cooney & Conway as a law clerk in 2007 and returned to the firm as an associate in the spring of 2011. Prior to rejoining the firm, Mr. Adair served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Terrence J. Lavin of the Illinois Appellate Court, First District. Mr. Adair concentrates on cases involving asbestos-related illnesses, including mesothelioma, lung cancer, and asbestosis.

Since 2011, Mr. Adair has represented hundreds of clients suffering from mesothelioma and asbestos-related illness. In addition to his asbestos work, Mr. Adair has experience across a broad range of civil trial matters, including product liability, construction negligence, premise liability, and motor vehicle negligence. Mr. Adair serves as Loyola University Chicago’s Moot Court Program Director, where he leads the honors course associated with Loyola’s Top-10 nationally-ranked moot court program.

Mr. Adair has also taught Legal Writing III at Loyola since 2011 and has coached the Jessup International Law Moot Court team since 2009. In 2019, Mr. Adair was honored with Loyola’s prestigious St. Robert Bellarmine Award. The St. Bellarmine Award was established in 1985 to honor alumni who have been in practice for 15 years or less and who have distinguished themselves by their contributions to the profession and to the School of Law.
