About Sergio Gomez

Sergio Gomez graduated cum laude from DePaul University College of Law in 2015 after graduating magna cum laude from DePaul University’s Driehaus College of Business in 2012. Sergio joined Cooney & Conway in 2024 and advocates on behalf of victims of asbestos-related illnesses , including mesothelioma , lung cancer, and asbestosis. Sergio also maintains a practice of advocating for victims and survivors of personal injury and sexual abuse . Prior to joining Cooney & Conway, Sergio began his career as an Assistant State’s Attorney for the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, where he advocated on behalf of victims and survivors of violent crimes.

Notably, Sergio was a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force where he prosecuted perpetrators of sexual crimes against children while providing training to law enforcement and community members on a national scale. As an Assistant State’s Attorney, Sergio litigated more than 80 bench trials and more than 20 jury trials. Sergio is admitted to practice law in the State of Illinois and is a member of the Hispanic Lawyers Association of Illinois and the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association .
