Cara Purvis

Cara Purvis is a personal injury attorney at Cooper Hurley Injury Lawyers in Virginia, having joined the firm in 2023. Her current practice focuses on personal injury matters.

Before joining Cooper Hurley, Purvis spent 18 years as a trial attorney and Deputy Public Defender in Norfolk, Virginia, where she handled approximately 3,200 cases involving felony and misdemeanor offenses in Juvenile & Domestic Relations, General District, and Circuit Courts. Earlier in her career, she worked as an employment counselor and probation officer.

She earned her B.S. magna cum laude from Old Dominion University and her Juris Doctor from Regent University School of Law.

She is admitted to the Virginia State Bar.

Purvis is a member of the Norfolk/Portsmouth Bar Association (Bench/Bar Committee), the Virginia Beach Bar Association, the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, the American Association for Justice, and is a founding member of the CounselHer Circle women's attorney network.
