Todd Barnes

Todd Barnes is a Partner at Dean Omar Branham Shirley, LLP and manages the firm's Indianapolis office. He earned his Bachelor of Arts with high honor from Michigan State University in 1995 and his law degree from the University of Notre Dame Law School in 1999. With more than 25 years of experience representing injured individuals, Barnes focuses on asbestos litigation, product liability, and premises liability. He has argued before the Indiana Supreme Court, most notably in a 2015 consolidated case challenging Indiana's statute of repose that had immunized asbestos manufacturers, in which the court agreed the law was unconstitutional and restored victims' rights to sue.

He also writes legal arguments for appellate and trial courts nationwide and volunteers pro bono with the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association. Barnes is admitted in Michigan, Indiana, and multiple federal district courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court. His notable reported cases include Myers v. Crouse-Hinds (2016), Gill v. Evansville Sheet Metal (2012), and Myers v. Bremen Casting (2016).
