About Robert T. Dassow

Robert T. Dassow was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin on January 4, 1965. He was admitted to the Indiana Bar in 1990. He graduated from Beloit College with a B.A. in Economics with a concentration in Biochemistry (1987), where he was a Volrath Scholar and played three varsity sports. He received his J.D. from Valparaiso University School of Law (1990), where he was an Articles Editor for the Law Review, and served as an Adjunct Professor of Business Law.

He also interned for Chief Judge Loren A. Smith of the U.S. Court of Federal Claims. Rob is one of four partners at Hovde Dassow + Deets and has represented thousands of clients in mass torts, class actions, and multidistrict litigation, including cases involving defective drugs, medical devices, and products. He has been selected to Best Lawyers in America, the National Trial Lawyers Top 100, the Top 25 Mass Tort Lawyers list, and Indiana Super Lawyers in Mass Torts and Class Actions (2010 to present). He is a Member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation.

Dassow of Hovde Dassow + Deets served as local liaison counsel for the plaintiffs steering committee in the Biomet M2A Magnum metal-on-metal hip implant MDL, helping coordinate a settlement valued at least $56 million, with individual awards paid from a program that ultimately resolved roughly 2,800 claims nationwide.
