About Kevin Simons
Kevin J. Simons joined Goudarzi & Young in 2019. Born in Wichita Falls, Texas to a military family, he graduated from Texas Tech University with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering (cum laude), a B.S. in Computer Science (cum laude), and an M.B.A. (summa cum laude), then received his J.D. from Texas Tech University School of Law, where he was a member of the Texas Tech Law Review and graduated seventh in his class. Over a career of more than 20 years he built deep experience in intellectual property litigation, licensing, patent prosecution, technology transactions, and venture financing, representing clients in semiconductors, wireless communications, consumer electronics, medical devices, and software, including several Fortune and Global 500 companies.
Before joining the firm he was Head of Intellectual Property and Licensing at a $2 billion semiconductor company in San Jose, California, where his responsibilities included a $68 million jury verdict against a Chinese company for trade secret theft. He applies that ability to understand complicated technology, business, and legal issues to personal injury and wrongful death cases. He is admitted to practice in Texas and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
