William J. Lightfoot

William J. Lightfoot was admitted to the District of Columbia Bar in 2017. He focuses on civil litigation in Washington, D.C., primarily tort-based litigation and workers' compensation law. He earned his J.D. from George Washington University Law School in 2017. During law school, he worked in Mayor Muriel Bowser's Office of Legal Counsel, assisting with drafting legislation, and clerked for a plaintiff's personal injury firm on cases involving construction accidents, medical malpractice, workers' compensation, car accidents, and premises liability.

He earned his bachelor's degree from East Carolina University, graduating magna cum laude with honors in political science. After law school, he worked as an associate at a D.C. firm before joining Lightfoot Law, PLLC in June 2019, representing plaintiffs and claimants in personal injury and workers' compensation cases. He now practices under his own firm, Lightfoot Law, PLLC. He has received the Martindale-Hubbell Client Champion Award (Platinum), was named to The National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40, was recognized on the Workers' Compensation Trial Lawyers Association Top 25, and served as co-chair of the New Lawyers Division of the District of Columbia Trial Lawyers Association.
