Matt Hardin

Matt Hardin is a second-generation attorney who grew up in Cookeville, Tennessee, and is the owner of Matt Hardin Law, PLLC. He attended Rhodes College as an undergraduate before earning both his master's degree and law degree from the University of Tennessee. His practice focuses on plaintiff personal injury, car and tractor-trailer wrecks, wrongful death, medical malpractice, and premises liability. He practices law throughout all three grand divisions of Tennessee and in Kentucky.

Before opening his own firm, Matt was a partner at Rudy, Wood, Winstead, Williams, and Hardin, PLLC, and previously practiced at Thomason, Hendrix, Harvey, Johnson and Mitchell, PLLC in Memphis. He spent five years as an insurance defense attorney before concentrating his practice on representing plaintiffs, giving him firsthand insight into how insurance companies evaluate and value claims. Matt is a former President of the Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association (TTLA) and has held positions as Immediate Past President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Parliamentarian within the organization. He serves as a Trustee for LIFT (Lawyers Involved for Tennessee) and is a Fellow of the Nashville Bar Foundation.

He is an active member of the Nashville Bar Association, Tennessee Bar Association, Kentucky Bar Association, and Kentucky Justice Association. Matt won Tennessee Trial Lawyer of the Year in 2024 for his work on Justin Bing vs. Nagy et al., in which a jury awarded his client $16.1 million, the largest medical malpractice verdict in Nashville history. He has earned AV Preeminent certification by Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings, been recognized by Best Lawyers, named among the '10 Best in Tennessee' for Client Satisfaction by the American Institute of Personal Injury Attorneys, and selected as a Mid-South Super Lawyer. He is also an Eagle Scout and President of the Nashville Chapter of the Rhodes College Alumni Group.
