William Mayfield

William Mayfield was born and raised in the Green Hills area of Nashville, Tennessee. He attended Lipscomb University for two years on a golf and academic scholarship before earning his B.A. in Journalism and his law degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He received the University of Tennessee CALI Award in Contract Drafting for achieving the top grade in his class. After his first year in law school, William served as a summer intern for the Nashville Predators Legal Department, working on contracts and researching legal issues for the organization.

During his second and third years in law school, he served as a legal intern at the Adams Law Firm, where he had the opportunity to sit second chair in multiple trials, depositions, and mediations. William serves on the Board of the Nashville Bar Association Young Lawyer's Division. He is an active advocate for youth athletics, coaching AAU basketball for underprivileged children and flag football through Preston Taylor Ministries.

While in law school, William launched the middle school and high school golf programs at Concord Christian School, leading the middle school golf program to state championships in their second and third year, and also served as a high school basketball coach there. In 2017, he served as an assistant editor for the Athlon Sports College Football National Preview Magazine and has written published articles for utsports.com and the Tennessee Basketball Newsletter. William is a member of Brentwood Baptist Church and is involved with the Tennessee Chapter of the ALS Association.
