About Ethan Shaw

Ethan L. Shaw is a personal injury attorney in Austin with decades of trial experience who believes firmly in the jury system and every person's right to their day in court. After representing thousands of clients across a wide range of matters, he has built a practice centered on motor-vehicle accidents, medical malpractice, wrongful death, product liability, patent infringement, and business litigation. He has been board certified in both Personal Injury Trial Law and Civil Trial Law since 1995, and was named a Texas Super Lawyer every year from 2003 through 2019.

Before co-founding Shaw Cowart in 2013, he was a partner at Moore Landrey, L.L.P. from 1994 to 2012 and began his career at Benckenstein, Norvell, Bernsen & Nathan Law Firm from 1990 to 1992. He is AV Rated by Martindale-Hubbell and has served as lead counsel in numerous high-profile cases including a federal qui tam matter against Trinity Industries (E.D. Tex.), Sulzer hip mass action litigation in Jefferson County, and wrongful death and catastrophic injury cases across Texas state and federal courts.
