Allyson Cox

Allyson Cox is a plaintiff-side civil litigation attorney at Smith LaCien LLP, focusing on catastrophic personal injuries and wrongful death, including product liability, medical malpractice, premises liability, motor vehicle accidents, public utility liability, and municipality liability. She earned her J.D. cum laude from UC Hastings College of the Law in 2020 and her B.S. in Secondary English Education from the University of Kansas in 2017. Notable results from her practice include a $2.1 million trial recovery for PTSD from a single-vehicle car accident.

A $3.3 million settlement with Winnebago County for a woman killed during a high-speed police chase; a $1.5 million settlement for a spinal injury on slippery stairs; a $1.5 million settlement for a motorcyclist injured by road debris; a $5 million product liability settlement against a vehicle manufacturer; and a $10 million settlement for a child injured at a park district facility.
