Abby Chin

Abby Chin, Esq. is the Managing Partner at Cooper Elliott in Columbus, Ohio, specializing in complex civil litigation. Her practice focuses on wrongful death, catastrophic injuries, sexual abuse, civil rights violations, and malpractice cases. Known for meticulous case preparation and persuasive courtroom skills, she has secured multiple multi-million-dollar verdicts and settlements, including a $27 million wrongful death verdict (2025) — one of the largest jury verdicts in Ohio that year — a $5.1 million employment breach verdict (2025), and a $1.61 million police excessive force verdict (2024).

She is Past President of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Central Ohio and serves on the USA Swimming National Board of Review. She earned her Juris Doctor from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law and her Bachelor of Arts in Legal Writing & Economics from the University of Louisville.
