About Michael Cowen

Michael Cowen is the co-founder of Law Giant Injury Lawyers. He has spent his career handling injury cases and reports recoveries exceeding $1 billion for clients.

Cowen earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Texas at Austin School of Law in 1995 and his Bachelor of Arts from Texas A&M University in 1991. He is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law (since 2001) and Board Certified in Truck Accident Law (since 2019). He is admitted to the State Bars of New Mexico, Texas, and New York.

Cowen began his legal career at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft in 1996. He successfully prompted a major tire recall after requesting a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation into defective Chinese-made tires distributed by Hercules Tire & Rubber Company.

Cowen serves on the boards of the Academy of Truck Accident Attorneys, the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, the Attorneys Information Exchange Group, and the American Association for Justice. He is also a member of the San Antonio Trial Lawyers Association, the San Antonio Bar Association, and the Trial School Faculty. He created the Trial Lawyer Nation podcast in 2018 and has authored three professional books. His honors include Texas Super Lawyers recognition, the Top 20 Verdicts in Texas in 2020 (TopVerdict.com), the Top 50 Personal Injury Plaintiff Lawyers (TopVerdict.com, 2017 and 2018), and Scene in SA Magazine recognitions (2015, 2016, 2017).
