Leonel Vela

Leonel Arturo Vela was born in Houston, TX. His early childhood was spent traveling the state and country because of his parent's academic pursuits. Finally settling down in the Rio Grande Valley, Leo was blessed to have been raised around his mother's and father's families. The love and support he received from his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, played a huge role in his upbringing.

Leo graduated high school from Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North High School and went on to pursue his undergraduate studies at The University of Texas Pan-American (now known as The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley). After several years of competitive bodybuilding and weightlifting, injuries began to derail his athletic pursuits. With the encouragement of his mother and father, Leo returned to school to further his education. He earned his Master's in Public Administration at Texas Tech University.

After his graduate degree, Leo decided to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a lawyer. He attended both Texas Tech University and Texas Southern University and earned his Doctorate of Juris Prudence. After passing the Bar Exam, Leo joined Daspit Law Firm. He has thoroughly enjoyed his time learning from some of the best lawyers in Personal Injury litigation.

He prides himself in developing a rapport with his clients and advocating for their best interests. More than anything else, Leo prides himself in practicing his Christian faith and giving back to others. When not hard at work, Leo enjoys spending time in the gym, watching sports, watching movies, and building his collection of hats and sneakers.

The most important people in Leo's life are his beautiful wife, his beautiful daughter, his brothers, his sister, and his niece and nephews. Last but certainly not least, are his Mom and Dad. Without their tireless love and support, he would not be where he is today.
