J. Todd Malaise

J. Todd Malaise is a personal injury attorney with 28 years of experience who has been with Davis Law Firm since 2021. After graduating from St. Mary's School of Law in 1996, he founded and managed Malaise Law Firm, overseeing a staff of 10 attorneys and 35 support staff. Todd has extensive litigation and appellate experience, having appeared before the United States Supreme Court and argued multiple appeals in the Fifth Circuit, the Texas Supreme Court, the Fourth Court of Appeals, and multiple federal district courts.

Since 2015, he has won all 6 of his appeals, including a 9-0 ruling in his favor at the U.S. Supreme Court reversing the Fifth Circuit. In another appeal (Methodist Healthcare Sys. of San Antonio v. Dewey), he established new precedent making it easier for injured persons to sue hospitals for premises liability in San Antonio. He has been lead attorney in over 45 published legal opinions.
