James Wilkens

James Wilkens is a partner at Ginarte Gonzalez & Winograd, LLP and one of New York's most accomplished trial attorneys in medical malpractice. His verdicts include a $109 million medical malpractice award in Dockery v Peninsula (the largest in the U.S. that year), a $96.4 million verdict in Jordan v St. John's Episcopal Hospital (also the largest in the U.S. that year), a $60 million verdict in Nelson v Narwal (the largest in New York that year), and a $26 million verdict after a hospital botched the birth of twins. His cases have ranked among the top 100 personal injury verdicts nationally for multiple years. He earned his B.S. from Marist College and has been inducted into the New York Law Journal Verdicts and Settlements Hall of Fame. He is a past president of the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers.
