Evan Torgan

Evan Torgan is the founding partner of Torgan Cooper + Aaron, where he concentrates his practice in plaintiff's personal injury and medical malpractice litigation. He has won some of the largest verdicts in the country, including $90 million for a brain-injured child in a neonatal malpractice case, $64 million for a baby brain-damaged by obstetrical malpractice, $45 million for a child paralyzed during spine surgery, $30 million for a child struck by a truck, and $23 million for a passenger paralyzed in the Staten Island Ferry accident. His settlements include a record $22 million for a pedestrian struck by a Duane Reade truck and $20 million for a mechanic who lost his legs on the highway. A graduate of Hofstra Law School.

Where he was an associate editor of the Law Review, he co-authors the Trial Advocacy column in the New York Law Journal with Ben Rubinowitz and taught Trial Techniques and Litigation as an adjunct professor at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. He is a member of the Inner Circle of Advocates, an invitation-only group of 100 plaintiff trial lawyers in the United States, and has lectured for the New York State Bar Association, the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, the National Institute for Trial Advocacy and continuing education programs for New York State judges.
