Chris Melancon

Born in Baton Rouge, Christopher Melancon attended LSU, studying Sports Administration with a concentration in Sports Commerce, as well as a minor in Business Management; garnering Dean’s List Honors. Chris then earned his Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Civil Law from LSU’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 2022. Notably, Chris earned the CALI award for receiving the highest grade given in Civil Law Torts (the underlying concepts of personal injury law). During his time at LSU law, Chris was a law clerk for a large plaintiff’s firm in Baton Rouge.

Further, Chris engaged in The Vinson-Elkins Trial Advocacy Program is an optional, intensive, three-day training session available to third-year students in the week before classes begin. It covers every aspect of trial practice, from jury selection through closing argument. Sponsored by the National Institute of Trial Advocacy, it features some of America’s most outstanding trial lawyers and judges, who work in small groups with the participants and provide one-on-one skills development opportunities. Chris was also a Semi-Finalist in the Flory Civil Mock Trial Competition.

Through his experiences in law school and his clerkship, Chris decided that he could best serve those in need in Louisiana by dedicating his skills and time to helping those that have been injured through the negligence of others. Chris is an Active member of the Louisiana Association for Justice, as well as the American Association of Justice. In his spare time, Chris is also an accomplished bodybuilding coach for Team Legacy Fitness, helping people reach their fitness goals, no matter how big or small, including helping individuals compete at the highest levels of professional competition. In 2020 and 2021, Chris coached over 200 high school athletes in their summer strength and conditioning programs to better their performance the following seasons.

Chris is also an enormous sports fan, always ready to cheer the LSU Tigers on. Throughout his time of representing plaintiffs, Chris has done everything in his power to stand up for the rights of the injured, striving to keep clients informed about the details of their case as they move through the sometimes-complex legal system.
