About Dave Stubstad

Dave Stubstad grew up in the Minneapolis metropolitan area. Before going to law school he worked as a police officer. He graduated from The College of St. Thomas in 1988 and from Hamline University School of Law in 1995. After law school he joined a Minneapolis firm practicing personal injury civil litigation, then moved to Omaha in 1998 to join a large firm where he continued personal injury civil litigation work.

In 2018 he was hired by a client as Managing Attorney of the Des Moines, Iowa Staff Counsel Office, handling personal injury civil litigation across the state. He now serves as the Demand Attorney at Inserra Kelley Cooper Sewell, reviewing bills, records, and other documents and composing settlement demand letters to insurance companies. His background as a former police officer who investigated motor vehicle accidents, combined with more than 20 years inside insurance company litigation operations and experience as lead attorney in many jury trials across Nebraska and Iowa, gives him a distinctive perspective in evaluating and presenting personal injury claims. He is a member of both the Nebraska and Iowa State Bar Associations.
