About Geary Yeisley

Special Counsel Geary L. Yeisley, M.D., J.D., is a board certified physician and surgeon who held various prestigious positions, including chief of cardio-thoracic surgery, at multiple Pennsylvania hospitals before transitioning to law practice. His legal advocacy parallels his medical career mission: "For twenty years, I was an advocate for the right of heart surgery patients to receive a high level of care from hospitals. By going into law at this stage of my career, I hope to continue to be an advocate for patients for the next twenty years."

Pennsylvania Super Lawyers designated Yeisley a Rising Star in 2017, placing him among the top 2.5 percent of attorneys practicing ten years or less. From 1991 to 1997, he served as director of the Open Heart Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital and chief of the Division of Cardio-thoracic Surgery, participating in Medical Executive Committee, Surgical Executive Committee, Quality Assurance Committee, and Circulatory/Regional Heart Center Committee roles. He chaired the hospital's Pacemaker Committee.

Dr. Yeisley was affiliated with Central Pennsylvania Cardiac, Thoracic and Vascular Surgeons in Harrisburg; Panebianco-Yip Heart Surgeons in Allentown; and Easton Cardiothoracic Surgery. He maintained his own practice, Yeisley Cardiothoracic Surgery, LLC, in Allentown, specializing in adult cardiac surgery. Hospital affiliations included Harrisburg Hospital, Harrisburg Polyclinic Hospital, Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill, Community General Osteopathic Hospital in Harrisburg, St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem, and Easton Hospital.

Dr. Yeisley completed specialized cardiothoracic surgery training, including cardiac surgery training under Dr. Denton Cooley in 1980 in Houston, plus micro-vascular surgery and advanced trauma life support study.
