About Susan Novosad
Susan L. Novosad serves as Of Counsel at Levin & Perconti, where she is well known in the Chicago legal community for her compassion and tireless advocacy for victims of personal injury and wrongful death, including medical malpractice and nursing home abuse and neglect cases. A Cook County jury found in July 2017 that Clare Oaks, a Bartlett nursing home, let an 85-year-old resident go 14 days without her prescribed Coumadin, and she suffered a stroke on March 30, 2011. She died four years later. The jury assessed $4,111,477.66 against the facility, and the Illinois Appellate Court affirmed the verdict in August 2019.
On May 21, 2011, a City of Chicago Streets and Sanitation worker driving a city pickup truck left the road and struck several people on a Gold Coast sidewalk, including 27-year-old Stephen Dewart. The driver's blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit. After a five-day damages trial in September 2013, a Cook County jury awarded Dewart $2.4 million in under two hours.
