About Donald Lomurro
Donald M. Lomurro is the founding and managing partner of Lomurro Munson LLC, where he heads the Criminal and Civil Litigation Departments. He is one of only 75 attorneys in New Jersey to hold dual certification as both a Certified Civil Trial Attorney and a Certified Criminal Trial Attorney by the New Jersey Supreme Court, a distinction he has maintained for more than 30 years of practice in Freehold. His litigation experience spans negligence, product liability, criminal defense, palimony, employment discrimination, freedom of the press, and malpractice. Several of his cases have drawn national media attention.
Lomurro was named a New Jersey Super Lawyer from 2005 through 2015 and recognized in Best Lawyers in America in 2015. He received the Gerald O'Connor Award from the New Jersey Association of Justice in 2024 and the Trial Attorney Recipient award from Trial Attorneys of New Jersey in 2025. In the Fiore v. Highlight Motor Freight case tried in 2023, he served as lead trial counsel alongside Jonathan Lomurro and Matthew Schiappa, securing a $17.6 million verdict in Monmouth County Superior Court.
Proven verdicts and settlements
A Monmouth County jury awarded John Fiore $6.5 million in compensatory damages and $11.15 million in punitive damages after a drug-impaired Highlight Motor Freight driver caused a multivehicle crash on Route 440 in Perth Amboy that killed another motorist and left Fiore unable to work.
