Forest Horne

Forest Horne has been practicing law for more than thirty years. He spent the first six years of his career as a partner at a large defense firm, mainly defending large corporations in civil lawsuits. Seeing the inequalities between wealthy companies and ordinary people, he joined Martin & Jones to help level the playing field. Drawing on his defense experience, Forest now represents people severely injured or families of those killed due to the negligence of others.

He has tried cases to successful jury verdicts in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Texas, and has also represented clients in New Jersey, Tennessee, Ohio, Alabama, Minnesota, Florida, Utah, and Illinois. He has argued appellate cases before the Fourth Circuit, Third Circuit, and North Carolina Court of Appeals. Forest has obtained verdicts and settlements against corporations in the manufacturing, pharmaceutical, medical, railroad, and trucking industries, and continues to handle asbestos disease, defective drug, professional negligence, and FELA cases. He was lead counsel in what was reported to be the single largest FELA asbestos disease verdict in the country, a $7.5 million jury verdict for a CSX railroad worker who developed mesothelioma.

Forest has been named Best Lawyer in America for more than a decade, including Lawyer of the Year 2024, 2022, 2020, 2018, and 2012 by Best Lawyers in the Product Liability and related categories. He has been recognized in North Carolina Super Lawyers since 2010 and holds the Martindale-Hubbell "AV" rating. He is a Senior Fellow of the Trial Lawyer Honorary Society of the Litigation Counsel of America and a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates.
