About David Martinez

David B. Martinez is a founding shareholder and owner of Martinez, Hart, Sanchez & Romero, P.C. He received his law degree from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 1982, where he served as president of his law school class and earned the Dean's Award. Before law school, David studied architecture and business at the University of Notre Dame, graduating in 1978 with a degree in Business Administration. Over a 40-plus-year career, he has helped thousands of injury victims recover millions of dollars in settlements and jury verdicts across New Mexico.

His practice covers motor vehicle accidents, truck and motorcycle accidents, slip and trip-and-fall injuries, construction accidents, insurance claims, workers' compensation, and plaintiff's legal malpractice. David earned the AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell, was named one of the Best Lawyers in America in 2009, was voted Albuquerque's Lawyer of the Year for personal injury litigation in 2018, and received the Distinguished Achievement Award from UNM Law School in 2022. He served on the UNM Law School board for 35 years and taught as an adjunct professor there.
