Julio Romero

Julio C. Romero joined Martinez, Hart, Sanchez & Romero, P.C. in 2016 and earned shareholder and ownership status in 2020. He received his law degree from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 2014, graduating with honors including the Dean's Award, the Outstanding Clinical Law Student Award, and top honors in legal writing and analysis. After graduating, Julio clerked for Justice Edward L. Chavez of the New Mexico Supreme Court before spending a year representing corporations and then joining the firm. He is bilingual in English and Spanish. His practice covers personal injury, motor vehicle and motorcycle accidents, wrongful death, children's rights, civil rights, sexual abuse claims, insurance bad faith, and appellate work in both state and federal courts.

Since 2018, he has been recognized every year as a top-rated Rising Star in personal injury and civil rights. Julio serves on the Board of Directors for the New Mexico Immigrant Law Center since 2011 and as President of the board of a nonprofit medical clinic in Albuquerque. He teaches at UNM Law School and has taught at UNM School of Medicine, and serves as an ACLU cooperating attorney. He has also performed election integrity work to ensure New Mexico voters can exercise their right to vote.
