Douglas Gordon

Douglas L. Gordon practices civil litigation with a focus on wrongful death, catastrophic personal injury, product liability, UM/UIM cases, and medical malpractice. Born and raised in Florence, South Carolina, he received his B.A. cum laude from Wake Forest University in 1983, an M.A. in Linguistics from the University of South Carolina in 1988, and his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 1992. He was admitted to the California State Bar and the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of California in 1993, and is also admitted to the U.S. District Court, Northern District of California. He has completed approximately 20 civil jury trials to verdict in state and federal courts and has extensive experience at all stages of litigation. Mr. Gordon is a member of the Fresno County Bar Association, the State Bar of California, the Consumer Attorneys of California, and the National Lawyers Guild.

Since 2008 he has served on the Board of the San Joaquin Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, including three years as Ninth Circuit Representative and as President in 2019. He has been retained by the State Bar of California as an expert witness on personal injury litigation in attorney disciplinary proceedings, received the 2018 Blaine Petit Mentor Award from the Fresno County Young Lawyers Association, and the Joe Ramsey Award for Excellence in Pro Bono Service from the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California. He holds an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell and has been a Northern California Super Lawyer every year since 2008. He is also an adjunct professor of civil litigation in the paralegal program at Fresno City College.
