Joshua earned his law degree from Yale Law School, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Yale Journal of Law & the Humanities. He earned his undergraduate degree summa cum laude from Northwestern University, where he was awarded Phi Beta Kappa.

After law school, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Beverly B. Martin of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and to the Honorable Keith P.
