Derek Quick

Derek Quick is a Senior Attorney at Slack Davis whose practice spans all of the firm's practice areas, with a primary focus on aviation crash cases. He concentrates on civil litigation and has experience prosecuting and defending a wide variety of personal injury matters in both state and federal court, including aviation crashes, trucking accidents, premises liability, product liability, and construction site injuries. Derek also handles commercial matters such as contractual disputes, business torts, breaches of fiduciary duty, and trademark disputes. Before joining Slack Davis, he clerked for United States Magistrate Judge Andrew Austin in the Western District of Texas and spent 10 years litigating cases at Clark Hill Strasburger.

During law school, Derek served as an Associate Editor of the Texas Law Review and interned with Justice Harriet O'Neill on the Texas Supreme Court. He is a Texas Bar Foundation Fellow, a Life Member of the Texas Exes, and a former Barrister in the Lloyd Lochridge Inns of Court. Austin Monthly has recognized him as an Austin Top Attorney in Aviation from 2022 through 2025.
