John Morrissey

John J. Morrissey is a Senior Trial Attorney at Sweeney Merrigan Personal Injury Lawyers in Boston with more than three decades of experience in personal injury law. His litigation experience covers complex tort claims including motor vehicle accidents, slips and falls, alcohol-related injuries, premises liability, workplace and construction safety claims (including crane failures), and commercial and real estate litigation.

Morrissey obtained a jury verdict with interest in excess of $5.8 million in a personal injury lawsuit. He volunteered as an attorney representing victims of the Boston Marathon bombing through the Marathon Bombing Victim's Legal Assistance Program.

Morrissey has served as President of the Massachusetts Bar Association, Chair of the Joint Bar Committee on Judicial Appointments, and Chair of the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers of the Supreme Judicial Court. He earned his Juris Doctor from Boston University School of Law in 1992 and was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar that year.
