Michael Cooper

Michael J. Cooper is a Buffalo personal injury trial attorney with The Barnes Firm, where he handles motor vehicle accidents, construction accidents, dog bites, drunk driving accidents, slip-and-fall, spinal cord injury, and wrongful death cases. He began his career as an Assistant District Attorney for Erie County (1986-1998), where he tried more than 100 jury trials, then served as a trial attorney at Cellino & Barnes from 1998 to 2020 before joining The Barnes Firm. He has always felt more comfortable in the courtroom fighting for his clients' interests than behind a desk, and emphasizes a hands-on approach personally handling case details and maintaining close contact with everyone involved. He also serves as a judge for the Trial Technique Program at University at Buffalo Law School.
